About this book
Detective Duel — Who Is the Killer? is a murder mystery word search book for adults, designed for two players to compete face to face. Both detectives tackle the same case with the same clues and race to complete their deductions.
The 50 investigations take place in Harbor City in 1938. Each case has five answers to uncover: the victim, the killer, the weapon, the crime scene and the motive.
How to play a detective duel
Read the case and search the grid for hidden words. You will also need to notice what is missing, compare clues and solve anagrams. Finding a word is only part of the investigation: connect the evidence to work out the five answers.
When you think you have solved the case, announce “Case closed!”. Check your deductions against the complete solutions at the back of the book or online, then use the case log and scoring system to track the duel.
A paper puzzle game for couples, friends and family members who enjoy solving mysteries together. No board, cards or screen is needed — just two pencils and a second player. The book, clues and instructions are in English.
