“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom and also of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief and of incredulity; it was the season of Light and the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope and the winter of despair,” wrote Charles Dickens in 1859, at the opening of A Tale of Two Cities.
When Dickens wrote these words, he could not have imagined how powerfully they would continue to resonate over time. Without knowing it, he left us a remarkably accurate image of what we are living today: a time of discoveries and uncertainty, of luminous advances and persistent shadows, of fascination and also of weariness. A time, without a doubt, contradictory, intense, and fragile. Like almost everything that truly matters.
And that’s where you come in.
For us, finding you has been a gift. Every email we receive, every idea you share with us, every book that reaches your hands is a small confirmation that it is worth continuing to do what we do.
We know that this year has not been easy for anyone. But even so —or perhaps precisely because of that— we feel deeply grateful to have you close. The path feels less frightening when it is walked in such good company.
This is a time for good wishes, and from our side, we hope your days are filled with love and serenity. That sorrows, if they come, may be light on your heart. That you find a moment to feel that yes, everything is where it is worth being. That you matter.
And that’s it.
Until we read each other again, take good care of yourself and be happy.
