The other day I read that Einstein once said you shouldn’t worry too much if you struggle with math, because he struggled even more.
Can you imagine? I have to admit that anything involving numbers has always been a bit difficult for me, and that often leads me to avoid games that include math or numbers. But when we created Lolita Perrins, I realized that this was actually working against me: my mind needed that challenge. So we created a line of sudokus ranging from the easiest to the most complex. That was my challenge!
Of all number and logic games, my favorite is Kakuro. I discovered it while we were designing our first puzzle book. It’s so much fun! And—come closer, I’ll tell you a secret—I also started doing sudokus. Are they hard for me? Of course! But I enjoy them because, while my mind easily simplifies and finds answers in other types of exercises, here I need concentration, agility and, above all, purpose.
So yes, it’s difficult. And yes, it’s rewarding.
If you feel the same way, start with the basics: 4 x 4 sudokus. Then build your way up from there. You can find the full collection here. I’m sure you’ll get hooked.
And if you’re already a sudoku master, we’re preparing an amazing logic puzzle book that will leave you wide-eyed and pencil in hand. Want to know more? Write to us.
That’s it for now. Until we read each other again, please be happy—and keep challenging yourself.
